Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson joined U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn and other state leaders in announcing an effort involving Turning Point USA to establish student chapters at high schools and colleges across Tennessee.
The initiative was announced during a meeting at the Tennessee State Capitol and is intended to provide interested students with additional opportunities to organize and engage on public-policy issues.
Governor Bill Lee also addressed the effort in a video message, saying students should have opportunities to respectfully engage with issues affecting the country.
