Johnson Highlights Immigration Enforcement Efforts in Tennessee

Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson highlighted federal immigration enforcement activity in Tennessee following the return of President Donald Trump to office.

Johnson cited figures indicating that more than 6,200 individuals who were in the country illegally had been removed from Tennessee, including thousands who had been charged with or convicted of crimes.

Johnson said Tennessee would continue working with federal immigration authorities as state lawmakers considered additional legislation dealing with illegal immigration during the 2026 legislative session.‍
